Dragon  of the Ly  (XI-XII century)

Thang Long  - where golden dragon appeared, is also where the Ly Dynasty (1010-1125) built many royal architectural works  ,  pagodas ,  towers  open for the autonomy of  Dai Viet . Maintaining the traditional dragon symbols of the nation, the Li artists have created the dragon image, bringing new meaning. Dragon statues only  really developed  from the Ly dynasty, became the noble symbol ,  the authority  of the monarch  and the sacred power of God ( Buddhism is a national religion). It is embodied in a sleek, sophisticated, artistic complex, complete layout, unique style. Dragon statues have a consistent style, the artist adhere to thoroughly. Any dragon image in the relics whether in a distance, whether in different years, whether royal architecture or theocracy, the image of the Ly dynasty have the same style and structure.

Picture features :
