AMETEK, Inc. has completed the acquisition of FARO Technologies, expanding its capabilities with Creaform and Virtek in the Ultra Precision Technologies Division.

July 21, 2025 – AMETEK, Inc. announced today that it has completed the acquisition of FARO Technologies, a global leader in 3D measurement and imaging solutions. FARO joins Creaform and Virtek as part of AMETEK’s Ultra Precision Technologies Division.

Combining Power from 3D Scanning Giants

This acquisition marks the strategic combination of FARO, Creaform, and Virtek, creating a powerful ecosystem with market-leading mobile and automated 3D scanning, laser projection, and digital reality solutions. This is an important step to expand the application of 3D technology in many industrial and construction fields.

Key Applications After Merger:

1. Industrial Manufacturing

• Mobile measuring arms, handheld 3D scanners, laser trackers, optical coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), photogrammetric cameras and integrated scan-to-CAD software.
