In 2018, when 3D scanning technology was still very new in Vietnam, Dr. Nguyen Viet – Director of the Southeast Asian Prehistory Center – put his trust in 3D Master, assigning the team to carry out the first 3D digitization project of heritage. This marked the appearance of 3D Master in this field, even though at that time the equipment and experience of the team in the archaeology industry were still being formed.

3D Master's first field trips always start very early. As shared by Dr. Nguyen Viet: "At 4:15 am, moving from Kim Boi (Hoa Binh) to Quang Yen (Quang Ninh). Professor P. Bellwood from the Australian National University was waiting to study the newly discovered boats. 3D Master's young engineers tested 3D scanning of ancient dugout canoes. Tomorrow, we will go back to the site to salvage and transport artifacts to the prehistoric museum in Kim Boi."
The long, tireless working days at the site have created a professional spirit and the necessary precision in every project.
At Pham Huy Thong Museum and Bach Dang Cultural Research Station, 3D Master has 3D digitized dugout canoes salvaged from Kinh Thay River. The project combines traditional measurements and 3D scanning to study the shape, size, and structure of ancient boats. This is one of the first archaeological projects applying 3D digitization technology in Vietnam.
The research results will be officially announced in early 2026, with detailed analysis of two ancient Ha Man boats on the Dau River that have changed course – a special archaeological value.
